Such a lovely town, Tiburon is a cozy community with a popular sailing vibe and plenty of outdoor adventures to explore. It is nestled along the San Franciscan coast. The shops and houses are all brightly coloured and vibrant and as the sun was shining, it was bustling with people.
We headed to the ferry for Angel Island. The crossing was about 8 minutes and we arrived in a little boating community to begin our trek. Such a beautiful day and the views of San Francisco, the Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge were amazing with the famous Fog hovering on top of and below the bridges and city. On our return from Angel Island we went to Sam’s Anchor Cafe, a popular seafood restaurant, for lunch. And it was pumping with people enjoying the sunshine and the good seafood. I had the famous lobster roll, and it really was full of lobster. Such fun people watching!
Angel Island is an island in San Francisco Bay. It offers some of the best views of the surrounding Bay area and has many hiking trails. The landscape around the island is varied with shrub covered hills, small paths through wooded terrain and wide open paths. We hiked half way around the island and then upwards over the centre of the island back to the ferry terminal. The walk was comfortable although the hills were challenging, but once we realised we were on a time frame to get back to the ferry, we had to increase our speed! Needless to say we did make the ferry!
After a quick look at the delightful shops in Tiburon, then walking around Angel Island and finally finishing with a fabulous lunch at Sam’s Anchor Cafe, we drove home via a very busy and packed Sausalito. Great day, great company and great food!!
