Linley and I arrived by train into Montreal after a sad farewell in Beauville, leaving Deb and Ian after having spent a wonderful week in Picton with them. What fun we had, and so many laughs. Thank you both so much.
We stayed at the St Germain Hotel, a quirky boutique hotel in downtown Montreal. Susie, my friend from Oz, joined us here and after an afternoon spent walking down Rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest, (the shopping area), and strolling down to the old quarter (vieux Montreal), Linley joined us for dinner at the Vieux Port Steakhouse. Other places visited were the Basilica of Notre Dame and the quaint stone streets in the old town. We immersed ourselves in the culture, the art shops and the very vibrant atmosphere. The sun was shining. What more could a person want!
The following day I took a hop on hop off bus and went further afield up to Mount Royal and Saint Joseph’s Oratory. I actually got a little sunburnt! Should have taken my hat as advised!
Now off to board our cruise ship, Regent of the Seven Seas Navigator!! Very exciting.
