Mill Valley is such a beautiful town with a real sense of community. I have enjoyed walking down to the town in the morning and sitting having a coffee watching the world go by. It is a city in Marin County located about 23 kms north of San Francisco and 84 kms from Napa Valley. Mill Valley is located on the western and northern shores of Richardson Bay, and the eastern slopes of Mount Tamalpais and the houses nestle in narrow wooded canyons, mostly of second-growth redwoods, on the southeastern slopes of Mount Tamalpais, known as “Mount Tom” by the locals. From certain angles you can see the “Sleeping Lady” on Mount Tom!
Sue and Tom have been amazing hosts, welcoming me in to their beautiful home in Mill Valley, and taking me out and about to all the amazing places in this area.
There is a very unpredictable ocean fog that comes in to the canyons at all times of the day, and it will cover the mountains and all views to the surrounding areas and the city. It is very mystical and magical. I’ve been told that it is fog not smog!!! Fog is much cleaner!
I was lucky enough to play golf at McInnes Park, Terra Linda with Tom and Sue, who are both excellent golfers, and who gave me plenty of tips! It was a great afternoon on our way back from the Napa Valley.
