Next stop Ho Chi Minh, to meet my new grandson, Theo, son of John and Aimee. Such a sweet placid little boy (not that I’m biased!). I was so lucky to have quality time with this little man, being involved with bath duties and story reading. And he loved chatting to me too. I miss him and hope that it won’t be too long before I get to see him again.
John and Aimee organised Sunday brunch at the M Gallery. The food was very good. It was more of a seafood buffet with fresh lobsters, prawns and sashimi. And lots of yummy deserts! I didn’t need to eat for a week after that experience. Bec and Sam came with us and a good time was had by all. John’s hobbies have changed considerably since Theo’s birth. From being a keen golfer he has now become an expert at making cocktails and even making the syrups that go into the cocktails. So every night I was spoilt with a new cocktail.
Ho Chi Minh is such a busy place. The hustle and bustle seems to continue well into the night. John and I headed out one night to have a drink, and finally ended up at a bar called Legato. The bartender was another expert at making cocktails and as John and I had just received news that Patrick and Caris had just had another baby daughter, it was a great excuse to celebrate!
Aimee and John took me to an amazing restaurant called Okra. It was a share plate menu and the food was amazing.
The complex were John and Aimee live consists of 6 towers. There is a 50 foot pool, a gym, a really good coffee shop that also has very fresh croissants and pain au chocolat, a restaurant, a delhi and a small supermarket. So everything at your fingertips and if you can’t get whatever you need in the complex you can order it in and it will arrive within hours. My luggage got delayed by a day, and when we received the call to say it had arrived in the lobby, I expected to see a van, but the delivery man was on a scooter with 4 big bags balancing on the back. I couldn’t believe it!
