Our final destination, Aqaba! Aqaba is a Jordanian port city on the Red Sea’s Gulf of Aqaba. Inhabited since 4000 B.C., it’s home to the Islamic-era Aqaba Fort.
Aqaba also draws visitors year round because of the weather and access to the Red Sea. The Red Sea is known for incredible diving and snorkeling. Just south of the city, the Aqaba Marine Park has 7 km of shoreline where we explored the sea’s coral reefs, fish and other marine life.
We spent two days relaxing at the Berenice Beach Club in the Aqaba Marine Park, where we snorkeled and swam in the Red Sea. It was nice to spend time with our new friends, Adrian, Tina, Will and Asma.
We had a lovely meal on the rooftop of our hotel on our last night and took advantage of cocktail hour!! Next day we head back to Amman and then home! What a lovely week. Thank you Jordan for making us so welcome! And we hope that the turmoil in Israel and Palestine will be resolved soon and we can all live in peace.
