Hello again. I’ve returned after a significant absence!!
I was lucky enough to have my stepson, his wife Aimee and their little boy, Theo, come to the UK. We had a lovely party at Aimee’s family house in Barnet, North London for Theo’s first birthday. He’s a real character and a big boy for his age.
We had a lovely day at Borough Markets walking around the stalls and tasting all the street food. It’s has such an amazing selection of food. No visit is complete without a visit to the cheese shop or the donut stall so you can imagine the calorie intake for the day!! Ah well we’re all on holiday!!
I travelled up to Battersea Power station to meet John, Aimee and Theo a few days later. I only remember it as an old run down area that you avoided. That’s certainly not the case now. The shopping centre is in the old power station, and the old fire stacks now have lifts in them. The shops are high end and there’s plenty of places to eat including a food hall on the top level. You can even book a tennis court inside the complex for a short time. The apartments outside of the power station are very creatively designed and somehow complement the power station. So lovely to catch up with the family.
