Beautiful scenes down by the water in Roundstone after dinner. Just needed a quick walk after a beautiful dinner!! And after a downpour in front of the hotel, there was one of the best rainbows I have ever seen!!!
The following morning! A walk to Innishnee.
Innishnee is a small island off the coast of Ireland, in Roundstone Bay near the village of Roundstone in Connemara in County Galway. It is equipped with a lighthouse. As of 2011, it had a population of 43. Margaret and I walked from Roundstone to Innishnee via a small bridge and return, a distance of approximately 16 kilometres.
Just on the outskirts of Roundstone we walked past the house of Bill Whelan who is an award winning composer and producer based in Co. Galway, Ireland. He composes music for theatre, film, television and orchestra. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Music and is best known for his Grammy Award winning score Riverdance..
After our long walk Margaret decided to have a swim at Gurteen beach!!! She told me it was warm but I have my doubts!!!
To top off the day we went to dinner at Ardagh House with Joe’s goddaughter Slaney, and her husband Damian. Great company and great food!!!
I must just add a photo of the sheep on the road the following morning, after we left Roundstone to head to Noch airport!!!!
