As we depart from Grožnjan, we head back towards Buje, where we stopped for a coffee and for a pharmacy. Our cafe was in the old town square.
From Buje, we turned west and began our descent towards Brtonigla and continued towards the coastal city of Novigrad. We also passed through Antenal, with its road stretching straight through the middle of the sea. After finishing our ride across the road stretching through the middle of the sea, we stopped for lunch at a little fishing village, Tarska Vala. You can see the beautiful views we had from the cafe in the photos.
This is the restaurant menu and the meal Joe chose was Shrimp, scampi and cannabis risotto! Maybe that’s why he was riding so well this afternoon!! Or maybe something was lost in translation!!
We then continued south before reaching our destination of Poreč.
Poreč is a charming town located on the western coast of the Istrian peninsula in Croatia, known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and well-preserved ancient Roman heritage. The town’s most famous attraction is the Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring stunning Byzantine mosaics and intricate architectural details.
But Poreč is more than just a city of ancient history – it’s also a modern beach destination, with plenty of opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports.
And a beautiful sunset to end the day as we sit in a little restaurant overlooking the ocean watching the world go by.
