Hello again. Apologies for the long delay in recommencing my blog/travel adventures! I’m a little behind so will endeavour to catch up over the next few days.
Here is Bruce, my good friend Linley’s brother, in his pride and joy!! Very impressive.
These few weeks in Christchurch were very relaxing. I spent time in the city of Christchurch while Linley was working, strolling around and enjoying the surrounds. The pictures below are of the various cafes we visited on Oxford Terrace. Chiwahwah Mexican restaurant had really great mexican street food and great cocktails to go with the food. Linley and I also met our good friend Jill and her husband Bill at Amazonita Cafe for lunch. They had arrived in Christchurch on a cruise that morning so we had a great catchup along with a few drinks. I walked back to Linley’s house, a good 4 kms.
Linley and I had a lovely day with Linley’s grandchildren, Blake and Everly. We had a lovely walk around the Botanic Gardens and then enjoyed muffins and coffees at the Arts Centre. Several sparrows visited us in the hope of grabbing a few crumbs!! Beautiful birds with a lot of attitude!!
A beautiful evening at Little High Eatery in Christchurch with Linley, Josh, Elisha, Blake and Everly. Great food again with a multitude of choices at all the food stalls.
Phillippa, Bruce and I took the opportunity to cycle to Mona Vale Park and Homestead. We enjoyed a coffee in the beautiful park before cycling on to Christchurch. I’m loving the electric bike!
Another fabulous day exploring the outskirts of Christchurch with Bruce. We went to Mount Thomas and walked the Kereru Loop walk and stopped for lunch in one of the local towns. Beautiful scenery.
Linley had organised for us to do the fun run out at Pegasus Bay winery. Linleys work had organised a team of people to do the walk/run which was through the winery. It was great fun and I managed to complete the 10kms walk. After the walk we had lunch with Linley’s colleagues and enjoyed the beautiful ambience of the winery.
I’m going to miss Christchurch and look forward to my next trip.
Thank you Linley for the lovely G & Ts we had every night along with the homemade guacamole. And thank you to Bruce and Phillippa for spending time with me walking and cycling.
