Independence Day, known colloquially as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the Declaration of Independence, which was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America.
Tom, Sue and myself headed to the County Fair at San Rafael, Marin County to celebrate this holiday. We toasted the holiday with a few beers and cocktails, and treated ourselves to garlic fries and other equally healthy food!! The fair consisted of arty stalls, an art show with very good local artists displaying their work, and then the usual food stalls and fairground rides. There was also an area for musicians to play plus a DJ pumping out his music. We had a sunny day fortunately and headed home after a few hours to the tranquility and peace of Mill valley.
